I was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio with my three siblings. At a young age, I fell in love with music and played several instruments including piano, euphonium, multiple other brass instruments, and
eventually some guitar. It didn't stop there though. I have a huge heart for the arts, including the theatrical, performative (tap dancing is my favorite!) and visual arts. That's what led me to major in photography in college.
While earning my Fine Arts degree, I felt nudged toward ministry by a campus pastor, a few friends, and folks from my home church. The campus pastor at Jacob's Porch (at The Ohio State University) asked me to become the Arts Coordinator where I could use the arts to help my fellow college students ask questions about faith.
After college, Joe proposed while I was in the Episcopal Service Corps. During the same year, I finally accepted the call to ministry. I started at Fuller Theological Seminary, surrounded by people of many different
denominations, and ended my education at Trinity Lutheran Seminary.
Since then, my husband has supported my call to ministry by going with me to San Antonio (TX), Buffalo (NY), Woodbridge (VA), and finally Thousand Oaks (CA).
For now, it is just the two of us, our dog, and a few motorcycles. We see life and ministry as an adventure, never fully sure of where it will lead us. For now, I feel my call is to care specifically for young people in the church - walking with them as they wonder, question, and explore. As a Queer pastor, I also hope to connect with the Queer and Christian community in Thousand Oaks and the surrounding area. And lastly, I believe the arts can help us explore our faith in ways we never imagined, so we'll see where that takes us during my time at Holy Trinity.
